"I asked my son not to come home a hero but as a son..........he came home a hero" Ghazala Khan 29 July 2016
Many of you saw Khizr Khan and his wife Ghazala the father of slain American soldier,Captain Humayun S. M. Khan take the stage at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday as he told of the heroism and sacrifice of his son.
He was interviewed on The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC. He told of eyewitness reports including that of the commanding officer. I copied the quote word for word.
"He saved hundreds of American Soldiers that were on the other side of the wall and hundreds of Muslims. Approximately, we are told, the number of the people that were outside was about 300 local Muslims that were about to enter the gate."
I personally have reviewed many Medal of Honor Citations in the book "Medal of Honor Recipients and Their Official Citations" (Highland House II) and in my humble opinion believe Captain Khan should receive our nations highest military award. Capt. Khan was awarded, posthumously, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. I think he deserves more. His brave family deserves more.
It is to this end I call on you to share and sign my "We The People" White House petition. "Posthumously award the Medal of Honor to Captain Humayun S. M. Khan – KIA June 8, 2004, in Baquabah, Iraq"
PLEASE HONOR CAPTAIN KHAN AND HIS BRAVE FAMILY
